    Moriscos on Stage: Law, Violence, and Memory in Early Modern Spain explores the complex relationship among law, violence, and memory in dramatic works on Moriscos—the descendants of Muslims forced to convert to Christianity at the end of the fifteenth century—in Spain. This project challenges studies on Moriscos that approach them from a religious or racial perspective by examining several plays from a legal point of view.
